cabernets
2004
tasting notes
a blend of 80% cabernet sauvignon and 20% cabernet franc
deep and vibrant with strong purples. Lovely deep reds from the Cabernet Sauvignon and softer reds from the Cabernet Franc component
fruit driven aromas of blackberries and black cherries with a fragrant vanilla background
a soft, balanced and approachable wine. The sweetness of the fruit flavors are enhanced by the oak vanillin and the soft textural structure of the wine.
cellaring potential of 3-5 years. Will accompany a varied range of foods and should suit white meats in its youth and move into red meats as it develops some bottle character
a pleasantly warm lead in to what turned out to be a cool harvest.
